There is another way of doing the tweet forms which we think will be even safer, but not knowing for sure what the problem with the first Viral Marketing Method system was, it may be that the other way is the problematic way.

I want to test this form quickly… to see it if raises any red flags with Twitter. The more people who Tweet it in the shortest space of time, the faster we will know. So please do this for me? Delete the message after you have tweeted it if you want and just get the software for free, I don’t care.

I don’t want to tell you that everything is working fine and you should go and make your own Tweet forms, because I don’t want the same thing that happened last time to happen again. If my form breaks, so what… if everyones’ form breaks, now that’s a problem.

As you are no doubt aware, we are having some problems with the application that powers the twitter side of Viral Marketing Method and we need to make some changes to system to compensate. After brainstorming ideas with some members in the forum, we have decided to make the following changes.
1. We will no longer be sending automated tweets to your twitter account. Previously (before the twitter problems) we allowed members to cloak a feed with their affiliate link and automatically post every update to a targeted twitter account… but clearly, this will not do.

Automated or mass-created affiliate advertising is not permitted on Twitter. Updates that are posted automatically to your account through a tool or third-party application, for which you are compensated (whether on a “per-click,” “per-sale,” “per-tweet,” or other basis), are prohibited.

Your tweets may be sponsored by a third-party if you manually post or approve each sponsored tweet before it is posted. These updates may not be automated or scheduled in advance.

So… we are developing an RSS feed reader application for you, to give you the power to approve everything that you post to Twitter. When I knew that I had to remove the autotweeting feature, I thought members would get upset, but on the contrary, everyone seems to love this RSS reader idea.

You’ll simply have to paste your cloaked feed into your reader and it will let you know every time one of your feeds updates, you’ll then be able to visit the link and post to twitter and social Bookmarking sites through the QKR toolbar if you like the post.

This clearly is allowed by Twitter.

We are also making some minor adjustments to the Tweet forms. You see, when a form is tweeted, we create a profile page for the person who tweeted the form in the twitter directory and send them a direct message with details on how to claim the profile (through your affiliate link if you created the form).

We are going to add a checkbox to the forms with the text “Also create a free profile for me at VMM” to give people the option to opt out of this service. If the box is unchecked, then the we will not create a profile page in the directory for them.

The “Twitter directory” too is changing. It’s becoming more than a twitter directory. The main purpose of the “twitter directory” is to provide “about me” pages for members.

So we are going to allow you to pull your content from all over the Internet onto your profile page at VMM. Your videos from your favorite video sharing sites, your bookmarks from your favorite social Bookmarking site, your articles from your favorite article directory, your photographs from your favorite photo sharing web site and posts from your own blog etc.

Thus creating a “true” about me page.

Your profile page is promoted in all shortened links created for you by the system, so by using Viral Marketing Method you will be indirectly promoting all the content that you add to your profile page.

All the content added will be “searchable” and browseable by visitors too. We are still keeping the twitter side of the directory, the plan is to make this area more than just a twitter directory.

I believe that these changes will greatly enhance the marketing system for everyone, but especially GOLD members and above. As they do with PDF Power Brand, GOLD members of Viral Marketing Method will get control of the ad space in the RSS reader…( Unlike PDF Power Brand, the RSS reader will be used by active members, every day… probably several times per day! PDF Power Brand is only used once per campaign).

All the additional pages created as we syndicate members content from all over the Internet, will create more revenue from the advertising space on the profile directory which the GOLD member profits from. Remember, every profile page is promoted on the Viral Toolbar of every shortened link created by the member. With GOLD members profiting from all the ad space on all downline members profile pages (unlimited levels deep), that’s potentially a lot of traffic and a lot of revenue from ad space. GOLD membership will not be available for ever!

It’s going to take some time to code everything here, but we aim to have everything done in the next two weeks and the important things finished in the next couple of days. (i.e. the RSS reader and tweet form modifications). The RSS reader is already over 80% complete.

All I can say is WOW! I knew I was going to buy this as soon as the squeeze page promoting it slapped me in the face as it loaded onto my computer screen.

I know, I know I said that Viral Marketing Method would launch back in October and things have been pretty quiet since then, but trust me, you will be glad we waited and made these changes. You’ll see the results of using the system a LOT quicker now. Initial test show an increase in response of over 500% from just one of the tweaks we have made.

Our goal right now is to create a marketing system that you can easily plug into and profit from. Something that anyone can do in an afternoon or two and begin to see how money is made online. It’s a low risk system that you can test for free and tap unlimited potential profits.

The tools we give you work, and they work well! So why not spend an hour putting them to work for you?

Everything was ready back in September, or at least I thought it was… then we let some in to check it out and realised that it wasn’t as ready as we wanted it to be. We realised that we could make the site a lot more “viral” and easier to promote just by doing a couple of things a little bit differently. Unfortunately those couple of things required a lot of coding… in fact, it was almost like taking the idea again and starting from scratch in terms of what had to be changed in the code. Viral Marketing Method will launch in 2 phases

Phase One — Beta Launch

This is where we open the site and promote it to affiliate marketers touting free tools, a proven marketing system and marketing campaigns to set up and promote.

*This was supposed to happen in October, but as I have explained we realised that the system could be improved dramatically and we have spent 2 months making these improvements. Log into your members area and you will see. (Or sign up for free).

During beta launch, our focus is on attracting affiliates, so  there is no charge to add campaigns to the affiliate marketing campaigns vault.

The reason we we are not charging a fee for this right now is because we are not “selling” this side of the system until “phase two”, but if you add your campaign now, it will be listed forever, at no cost! If you need help doing this, contact me… but please check out the instructions in the members area first.

The goal of beta launch is to gather data about the effectiveness of the system and see how it can be improved. It works now, but the better it is and the more people we have saying it works, the more money we will be able to charge people to add campaigns to the vault when we move into phase two…

Phase two will launch when we have several (real) glowing testimonials from people who have used the system and had  results. (This should not be too hard… especially from people who add campaigns to the vault).

At the end of Phase one, upgrade options to GOLD and GOLD+ will  be expired. That means that no-one else will be able to upgrade to GOLD or GOLD+ after this time, everyone who upgrades to this level before then will keep there account for as long as they pay for it.

We may introduce other upgrade options, but will no longer be offering the current deals on “owning” the benefits of the site that come with GOLD and GOLD+ membership.

Phase Two — Full Launch

When we move into full launch, the focus of the site will shift from attracting affiliates to the using to system over to attracting merchants to pay to add campaigns to the vault.

By doing this we do not need to attract affiliates anymore, as every merchant who adds a campaign to the vault will surely tell their affiliates to download and set up the campaign. We will leverage continuous affiliate sign ups from every merchant who (pays to) add a campaign to the vault…

We will still offer all the tools for free, nothing will change there. It’s because we do this that merchants will be willing to pay us for the traffic that this can generate for them.

However, before we can sell that, we need to prove the system works and get some real results from real businesses using the system.

So will you please, give this a go for free, while we are in “beta phase”. If you have a product to sell and a reason why affiliates should promote it, then you can add a campaign to the vault and have every active member of Viral Marketing Method promoting for you… forever!

It’s a sign that we are almost ready to launch. I have added affiliate banners to the “promo tools” page in the Viral Marketing Method members area. The banners were made by Thomas Northrop (a JV founder member).

Many people have been asking me to do this for quite a few weeks now, my excuse has been that I did not want to draw too much attention to the site while we are still getting everything set up. Which is why I have been sending email rather than posting on the blog for all to see.

Switching the system to the twitter oAuth method of verification and creating the twitter directory has taken a lot longer we than expected. There is still work to do, but the system is not “broken” anymore as it was during the transition.

Almost everything works at it should, there are just a few “enhancements” that are not in place yet. When they are, the world is going to find out about Viral Marketing Method very quickly. As an affiliate, you will also be able to profit very quickly if all you do is follow a few simple steps that require ZERO marketing knowledge. (I will explain when enhancements are ready).

The best way to promote your viral marketing method affiliate link is to use the Viral Marketing Method system and set up the viral marketing method affiliate campaign. Setting up any Viral Marketing method campaign will automatically promote your Viral Marketing method affiliate link as will adding your own campaign to the vault (which is still free while we are in pre-launch BTW, contact me if you need more details).

Putting a banner to your site is another way of promoting your affiliate link, or indeed the campaign that you have set up to promote Viral Marketing Method so check out the new banners in your members area and add one to your site. The code needed to do this is provided under each banner and we have several sizes to choose from.

We will be adding more banners and traditional affiliate marketing tools to the promo tools page in due course.

I know we have been quiet for over a month, but believe me, it has been a very busy month for us with a lot of coding and development that took a lot longer than expected, but it will be worth it, oh yes… it will be worth it!

It has been really frustrating for me, because every day for the last 2 weeks or so, I have expected to be able to publish this post, but again and again there were delays in getting everything ready. It’s still not completely ready, but it is ready enough for me to tell you about and give you access to play.

First of all, we had to convert the twitter tools to the oAuth method of verification. This means that you no longer need to enter your Twitter password into the members area to use the tools. Instead, you give our application permission to access your Twitter account and your Twitter password remains secure on Twitter. This is a MUCH better method, not just for the security of your Twitter account, but also for the usability of the Twitter forms.

Asking visitors to enter their twitter password into your web page was a stumbling block that actually made the tweet forms less responsive than a standard email list subscription. People would rather give you their email address then trust a stranger with there Twitter password, this is understandable. Changing to oAuth has made it so the visitor can tweet the message to twitter with a single click of the “Tweet” button. Without having to enter their Twitter username and password on your site.

Result = The tweet forms become much more responsive and ultimately you make more money.

The next major improvement we have made to the site is on the member profile pages. These profile pages are automatically promoted as you use the system. All your tweet forms, all your cloaked RSS feeds, and every link you bookmark with our (new) bookmarklet tool contains the QKR Viral Toolbar and every toolbar contains a link to your profile page.

The profile pages are a very important part of the system, they should ensure that you remain “branded” throughout all your promotions and  what we were giving you here was good enough, it could not do that.  This part of the system needed re-developing.

We were only giving you  a single member profile page, this was not good enough. Now you have a profile page for every twitter account that you add into the system. This means that your “marketing identities” are promoted through the appropriate tweets. Your health promotions display your health related twitter account and so on, instead of every link created linking back to the one “untargeted” account.

I am sure you will agree that this is a massive and much needed delvelopment?

On top of this, we have created a directory of twitter accounts. It seemed a logical step. After adding a twitter account to the system, you can tag yourself and list yourself in as many appropriate categories as you choose.

The Twitter directory is located here and right now it is pretty much empty (because I just told you about it). Soon it will be a great place for people to find targeted people to follow. That means you will be able to find people and people will be able to find you.

Now here is the really cool thing… Every time anyone tweets one of your forms, we will create a listing for them in the directory, place them in the category of the form they tweeted and send them a direct message to say we created a profile for them and ask if they would like to claim and extend it.

If they “claim” their profile in the directory, they will join Viral Marketing Method through your affiliate link. (Gold members and above take note… this will automatically build your business centre when members USE the system).

I have created some videos showing you how to add your twitter accounts and edit your listing in the directory at YouTube and will be adding more over the next few days. The videos in your members area are still valid in principle, but because of these changes some of the methods have changed and I want to get them all on YouTube anyway. It makes sense, there is traffic there and it does not cost me!

Please note we are still in “beta” phase and you should expect bugs. The profile pages particularly have a few issues. Like how it is not possible to actually follow any of the users on Twitter yet (D’ oh) and your affiliate link is not integrated into the twitter accounts you add, so there is no link for people to join Viral Marketing Method through your profile page or list themselves.

There is also a bug with the new bookmarklet which should be fixed tonight, maybe already by the time you read this. The problem is that the links created with the bookmarklet do not link to the correct profile page in the directory. This will be fixed shortly and all links created corrected.

You will find the new bookmarklet on the “Marketing Profiles” page in your members area.

I am sure you will agree that these developments have been well work coding and that is makes a lot of sense to have them ready before we begin major promotion of the site. That major promotion will happen very soon, and I hope you will be ready. It could be a very big pay day for you.

Profile Page Enhancements

One of the integral parts of the Viral Marketing Method system is your member profile pages. These pages are automatically promoted when you use the system and contain links to your favourite web sites as well as information about you and your business.

However, in their current incarnation, they are not good enough, so we are making them better.

Taking a leaf out of “Twellow’s” book, we are creating our own targeted Twitter directory. Your profile page(s) will be linked directly to the twitter account(s) that you add into the system. This way, we can automatically create a profile page for every Twitter account that you add.

You’ll still be able to write about yourself and your business, add links to your favourite web sites and social networking profiles. But if you do not want to / have the time, it does not matter as we can use your twitter feed to generate your profile page.

Actually, this is not the main reason why we are doing this. It’s not just to make it easier for members to use the system. The main reason we are doing this is to integrate a marketing system into the site, using twitter… the smart way.

Our GOLD members and above are going to love that we are doing this. One of the main benefits of GOLD membership is control over the ads on the site. This includes the profile pages! However, rather than giving members control over the ads on the profile pages, we are going to pay them exactly what those ads earn every month. We’ll likey get more than any individual could this way, and the look of the site will not be comprimised with potentially bad member ads.

So all the ads displayed on any profile page, created by any member in the “business centre” will display ads that the GOLD member profits from.

Every time any RSS feed cloaked by any member of the GOLD members business centre is tweeted to twitter, a link to a profile page is visible to the visitor. These pages will get a LOT of traffic, not just because of this automatic promotion through the affiliate RSS feed tool, but also because the first thing that most people do after creating a public profile page, it to bookmark the link and tweet it to twitter.

Now, here is where it gets really powerful.

There are over 1 billion Twitter users, as a GOLD member, you will be able to create profile pages for any of these Tweeple and tweet a message to them to tell them. If they come to the site and “claim” their profile, they will join Viral Marketing Method through your affiliate link.

So as a GOLD member, you will be able to sit creating VMM profile pages for people all day and effectively build the quantity of pages that are displaying your ads, and your VMM affiliate downline at the same time.

I received this question today, and decided to answer it in this blog post, because it’s something that every newbie affiliate marketer asks.

Once the VMM campaign is set up what is the quickest and most effective way of building traffic?

I have no lists so am starting from zero.

Answer…

The quickest AND the most effective way of driving traffic?

That depends on whether or not you have an advertising budget. If you do, and you are willing to take a gamble, then Google Adwords is the quickest and most effective way of driving traffic. However, as you say you are starting from zero, I’ll assume that you do not have any advertising budget either.

Even if you do have an advertising budget, I would still recommend that you learn (from an expert) how to use Google Adwords, and that you read everything on the Google web site about Google Adwords and how to use them and profit before you begin. Adwords can be a very expensive way of advertising if you do not know what you are doing and a licence to print money when you do.

Additionally, the standard VMM campaign “squeeze page” is not ideal for Adwords traffic, due to their “landing page quality standard” rules. This does not mean that you will not be able to advertise your VMM Squeeze pages on Adwords, it just means that it will likely be more expensive to do so.

In order to get quick results, you need to find where people who would be interested in your offer are, and put your ad in front of them.

Adwords is (can be) quick and effective, because Google control a lot of targeted traffic and allow you to place your ads where that traffic is. That is what makes them so popular, and expensive.

The good news is that you can put your ad in front of an extremely targeted audience for free. The Viral Marketing Method campaigns are designed to work perfectly with Ad Swaps.

What is an Ad Swap?

An Ad Swap is a system where by you will swap an ad with another merchant in your market… The more targeted the better. They agree to display your ad on their site and you agree to display their ad on yours.

There are several Ad Swap  integration points in the Viral Marketing Method campaigns. The integration points that you control in your campaigns are so powerful, that you will likely be able to leverage swaps with big players very easily.

Integration Point One (Silver Members And Above Only).

Tweet Form Integration
This is perhaps the most powerful integration point in the campaign that you control. The ability to have the visitor automatically follow a 2nd twitter account when they tweet the form.

You could offer to make this account your Ad Swap partners twitter account so that everyone who filled out your form and tweets the message, also follows them on twitter as well as you.

Every Campaign, even those that do not use an auto responder has a download page. You could display ads for your Ad Swap Partner(s) here in exchange for an ad on a similar page of their site.

Subscription Confirm Page.

There is room to display ads and offers for ad swap partners on the subscription confirm page.

Follow Up Message

You could broadcast a message for an Ad Swap partner to the list of subscribers that you build through the campaign, even include their offer as a follow up message. Or ad “sig ads” for you ad swap partners to the bottom of each message you sent to your list.

OK… you don’t have a list yet, but you will after a few successful ad swaps. The fact you have the system in place for potential ad swap partners to see could be enough.

The VMM squeeze pages are designed to build traffic to themselves, every marketer worth there salt will see that and the potential of your system to drive traffic to them.

The more targeted your ad swap partners are, the better your results will be. Ad Swaps allow you to tap into the traffic of other peoples traffic by sharing your traffic with them. You WILL NOT lose sales by doing this.

The system is becoming more and more popular and people using it are finding great success. Now is the time for you to tap into this incredible marketing system.

I’m not going to tell you which sites I use, but I will tell you that I have not come across any site that fails to make this system work. Start by searching Google for Ad Swaps. I am sure you will find exactly what you are looking for.
